The City Center Arts is home to a diverse collection of art featuring some incredible works from artists all over Michigan. It’s one of downtown Muskegon’s best-kept secrets and will please anyone who appreciates art.

Outdoors and Recreation in Muskegon

If you prefer the great outdoors, the city of Muskegon surrounds the eastern shore of Lake Erie, this great lake is considered an “inland sea”. Due to this, there is no shortage of boating, fishing, and camping to participate in.

While not actually in Muskegon, those seeking an adventure can head 45 minutes north to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes to rent an ATV or dune buggy. If that’s too far out of the way for your liking, try Heritage Landing Park down in Jackson Hills. 

This lakeside park has lots of trails and beautiful scenery to explore and discover. Hike, run, jog, walk, or bike – it’s up to you, but you’ll be sure to work up an appetite. 

Muskegon Eats!

After a full day taking in the history and tearing up the lakes of Muskegon, one might feel the hankering for a good meal. The Brewer’s Lounge at Pigeon Hill is a well-known taproom located blocks from downtown. 

Another fine establishment located slightly north in Nims is The Lake House Waterfront Grille and Event Center. This restaurant combines the best of fine dining and elegant scenery. Located at the edge of the Terrace Point Marina, there is something lovely about enjoying a great meal with the backdrop of the lake and boat-filled marina.
