Kristi DuShane took over as Sandbar’s proprietor in 2018, bringing her 30 years of experience in the culinary business with her. Her expertise and passion for the food and beverage industry are well reflected in the restaurant’s overall customer service and management.
People visit the Sandbar for its excellent comfort cuisine, ice-cold beer, and cozy, inviting ambiance. The restaurant does not take reservations and welcomes diners on a first come, first served basis.
The restaurant is dedicated to the customer’s needs and preferences. During the height of the pandemic, despite being risky, the Sandbar expanded its menu and included breakfast options. It was a risk, but Sandbar prioritized customers’ requirements, and the idea was a huge success.
The Sandbar now opens early in the morning and offers breakfast starting at 7 am for all the early risers. Omelets, breakfast sandwiches, perennially popular Bloody Marys, and mimosas are all available on the menu.
After it expanded its kitchen from one individual to a solid team of four, the business is booming. The kitchen is constantly busy thanks to its various offerings, including a fry station and a grill.
The Sandbar also offers Lori’s unique Wednesday Night Specials. This special Wednesday treats started as a rare event, but as it grew more popular and drew in many people, it became a regular attraction.
Depending on the night, Chef Lori may prepare anything from meatloaf, goulash with garlic bread, and chicken and dumplings to chicken alfredo and beef stroganoff. The Wednesday night specials at the Sandbar are hearty yet simple dishes that take you back in time.
